Sophie Cunningham has become a transcendent figure in women's sports becoming the first player in WNBA history to score at least two three-point baskets in seventeen consecutive games (July 2022).  The Columbia, MO native was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury with the 13th overall selection in the 2019 WNBA Draft.  Known for her competitiveness, toughness and will to win, Sophie was a force at the University of Missouri, becoming the women's basketball program's all-time leading scorer and an NCAA All-American.

Today, Sophie is a fan favorite completing her fourth season with a break-out year as a key player for the Phoenix Mercury.  She has played a significant role in returning the historic franchise to glory, helping them make it to the first round of the 2022 playoffs and the 2021 WNBA Finals, unfortunately losing to the Chicago Sky in a hard fought series.

With a bit of wanderlust, during two of Sophie's WNBA off seasons she traveled overseas to play international basketball.  She played down under in Australia with the Melbourne Boomers (2019-2020) enjoying beach life.  Following the 2021 WNBA Finals, Sophie hit the court in France to play for Basket Landes, embracing the culture, art, people and food.
